Visiting information

The Peace Palace Library is open 5 days a week: on Monday from 1 pm till 5 pm, and on other workdays from 10 am till 5 pm. The library is closed during weekends.

If you wish to visit the Library, you need to tell this to our security at the gate of the Palace. Be sure to bring a valid ID (passport, driving licence). You will have to show your ID at the main gate, where you will be given a visitor’s day pass. Without a valid ID you can’t visit the library.

Getting there

You can visit the Peace Palace by public transport or by car. There is limited parking space outside the Peace Palace gates (paid parking: coins or chipknip, €1,50 hourly).

You can also take a tram or bus, and get off at the stop called “Vredespaleis.”

From The Hague Central Station

  • before 10 am – after 3 pm:
    • tram 10, direction Statenkwartier, from ground floor outside train station (direct service, peak hours only)
    • bus 24, direction Kijkduin, from the bus platform upstairs (direct service, runs all day)
  • after 10 am:
    • tram 16 or 17 from tram platform outside train station, take 2 stops to Buitenhof, walk right around the corner to connect to tram 1, direction Scheveningen Noorderstrand.

 

From The Hague Hollands Spoor:

  • all day
    • tram 1, direction Scheveningen Noorderstrand (direct service, runs all day)
  • before 10 am – after 3 pm:
    • tram 10, direction Statenkwartier. (direct service, peak hours only) .
