Asser Summer Programmes 2013

The T.M.C. Asser Instituut in The Hague is a distinctive, inter-university research institute specialised in International and European law and a leading and authoritative provider of executive education to students and professionals operating in the judicial sector. The institute has a long-standing reputation for quality and excellence and is accomplished in recognising the unique challenges faced by today’s legal practices. Located in the heart of the international justice community, within walking distance of such international organisations as the ICTY, the OPCW, and the Peace Palace (which houses the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration), the T.M.C. Asser Instituut is the perfect host for organising Summer Programmes in international law.

June 3 - 26: Summer Law Programme on International Criminal Law and International Legal Approaches to Terrorism

Organised in cooperation with the War Crimes Research Office of American University’s Washington College of Law. This Summer Programme is designed for graduate students and young professionals, interested in pursuing careers in counter-terrorism and related fields of work.

July 1 - 5: Summer Programme on International Sports Law: The Expanding area of Sports Law

Organised by the Asser International Sports Law Centre. The primary audience for this Summer Programme is advanced students and recently qualified practitioners.  However, because the Summer Programme synthesises both academic and practitioner focused standpoints it will appeal to all who are interested in the area of sports law.

August 26 - 30: Advanced Summer Programme on Countering Terrorism in the Post 9/11 World

Organised in cooperation with the International Centre for Counter Terrorism – The Hague (ICCT). This advanced programme is for graduate students and young professionals, interested in pursuing careers in counter-terrorism and related fields of work.

September 2 - 6: Summer Programme on Disarmament & Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction

Organised in cooperation with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). This advanced programme is designed for graduate students and professionals interested in pursuing careers in the field of disarmament and non-proliferation of WMDs.
