Association of Attendees and Alumni of the Hague Academy of International Law

The Association of Attendees and Alumni of the Hague Academy of International Law ( AAA) organizes the external program of the Hague Academy of International Law, such as visits to international courts and organizations, as well as social and cultural visits of cities in the Netherlands. The board of the AAA consists of a secretary-general, Maurice Kamga, a vice secretary-general, Sophie Brinkel and the administrative assistant, Susan van Haeringen. This year’s summer assistants are Jip van Mieghem and Danielle Henriquez Cohen.

At the beginning of the summer courses students can come to the AAA-desk to register themselves for the activities. As for example the AAA organizes visits to some of the International Tribunals and Courts in The Hague, to international institutions and several museums in The Hague and to Leiden and Delft. Every year the Mayor invites all participants to a reception at the Town Hall. In the second and third week of the courses, the AAA organizes a beach party and a cook-out. The students of the Public International Law course will have their cook-out on Thursday the 25th of July and for the students of the Private International Law course, the beach party will be on Thursday 8th of August and the cook-out on Thursday 15th of August.

The AAA also publishes the Hague Yearbook of International Law and when students become a member of the AAA they can join the national group in their own country to stay in touch with each other after the courses.

One Response to Association of Attendees and Alumni of the Hague Academy of International Law

  1. I attended the 1978 sessions at the academy and would be interested in joining the association. Would you kindly let me know how I might do so?

    With kind regards,

    Johan Statius Muller
