This month, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in The Netherlands has participated in the Embassy Book Donation Project as part of our upcoming Centenary. The Slovenian Embassy, through H.E. Ambassador Leon Marc enriched our Library with publications from Slovenia's foremost international lawyer at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, Professor Leonid Pitamic. This distinguished legal scholar had a special connection with the Peace Palace. Between 1927 and 1939, Professor Pitamic served as (then Yugoslav) member to the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). Find out what publications of Slovenian law are now part of our collection.
The following publications have been generously donated:
- Pavčnik, M. (et al.) (eds.), Izročilo pravne znanosti, Ljubljana, GV založba, 2008.
- Pitamic, L., A Treatise on the State, Vol. I, Ljubljana, Ministry of Justice, 2008. [Reprint from original 1933]
- Pitamic, L., Na robovih čiste teorije prava = An den Grenzen der reinen Rechtslehre, Ljubljana, Slovenska Akademija Znanosti in Umetnosti, 2005.
The Peace Palace Library would like to express its deep gratitude and appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in response to their recent book donation to our special book project as part of our upcoming centennial celebrations.
