On Tuesday, 29 July at 14.00h, Professor Hope Elizabeth May of Central Michigan University and Ms Candice Alihusain, coordinator of the Reading Room, will give a special presentation titled ‘Pursuing Peace, Seeking Justice and Serving Humanity; The Life and Lessons of Bertha von Suttner’ in the Auditorium of the Academy Building.

Bertha von Suttner was the first woman to ever win a Nobel Peace Prize in 1905. She also played a significant role in helping the Peace Palace come in to existence a century ago. Please join us to learn more about the life of a remarkable woman in the history of the Peace Palace!
