Last Saturday, the Association of Attendees and Alumni of the Hague Academy of International Law, together with the United Nations Association in the Netherlands organized a Model United Nations for Academy students at the Peace Palace. The event brought together ambitious students from all over the world to challenge them to think about solutions to international problems. The theme this year: 'Drones and International Law'. In the morning there were lectures by experts in the field of international law, modern warfare and negotiating UN-style, followed by a lunch and a sightseeing tour through the Peace Palace. In the afternoon the students immersed in a debate on new legislation for the usage and manufacturing of drones. Several observers were there to see how young future leaders worked together and exchanged insights. It was an interesting day!
