Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-born immigrant who became one of the richest people in history. He believed in libraries and personally paid to build more than 2500 of them in his lifetime. Andrew Carnegie didn't foresee the Internet. He never anticipated Google, Wikipedia, eBooks, or drastic disruptions in the publishing industry. And yet, he understood something that would secure the future of our libraries no matter what technological changes come our way.
