The Peace Palace Library is more than a place where you can read and borrow books. We also organize various events to bring the community of international legal scholars together. The beautiful Peace Palace is ideally suited for such events.
Peace Palace Library Lectures
The Peace Palace Library Lecture Series is a lecture series on issues of general international law. Each year, approximately four lectures will be organized. All lectures are held in the Historic Reading Room of the Peace Palace Library, or in the Auditorium.
Every second Monday of the month from 12.00 to 13.00 hours, the Peace Palace Library offers a brief course on the effective search for literature, jurisprudence and legislation. We will explain how to use the Library’s catalogue, its major databases, and other resources.
The well-known summer courses of the Hague Academy of International Law, take place every summer over a period of six weeks: three weeks of public international law (in July) and three weeks of private international law (from the end of July until mid-August). As a service to the students the Peace Palace Library puts up lists of recommended reading by the lecturers of the Summer Courses.
