OPAC

General information

The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is used for searching and requesting books, articles and electronic materials. It is the most used method of searching in our library. Besides the catalogue you can also use our research guides and the bookshelves in the reading room of the Peace Palace Library itself.

There are different ways of searching in our online public catalogue, via:

  • Title words
  • All words
  • Author
  • Keywords
  • Corporation and publisher
  • ISBN number
  • Systematic code

It is also possible to combine and refine these different search methods above. In the following we will explain the different ways of doing research in our library. You can also use the online public catalogue to check your borrower information. There you can see your outstanding loans, reservations, and any costs you have to pay. Please consult this page regularly for reminders, renewals and reservations.

What about electronic materials?
If the book or article is available online, you also have to click on the ‘Plinklet button’. After that a link will appear on the top of this new window which leads you to the appropriate database.
