    This year the Peace Palace will screen again, in cooperation with Movies that Matter, a film about Peace and Justice during the Just Peace Festival. This year’s audience favorite Timbuktu will be shown in the beautiful garden of the Palace. After the screening the Malian musician Zoumana Diarra will give a concert. Tickets €10,- Students € 9.     On Saturday November 15, ten enthusiastic colleagues from the Carnegie Foundation/Peace Palace Library volunteered to work on the Europeana 1914-1918 Project and gathered early in the morning to prepare for this day. The project enables anyone, private citizens or institutions, with memorabilia relating to the First World War to attend these collections days and share objects, letters or other documents about this interesting period in Europe’s history.

    On Tuesday 25 November 2014, 19:45 hrs, a special ‘war poetry’ evening will take place in the Peace Palace to commemorate the First World War, based on a selection by Onno Kosters. Poems of well-known poets from Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy, such as Siegfried Sassoon and John McCrae, Georg Trakl, Guillaume Apollinaire will be recited. The reading of the poems will be interlarded with music compositions and performances by Rénan Zelada closely linked to the First World War. A guided tour of the exhibition ‘Peace Illusion Disturbed’ is included.

    Youth Peace Initiative 2014

    An initiative to get Israeli and Palestinian youth involved in the peace negotiations between their nations. The young adults will get together in The Hague, International City of Peace and Justice. There they will draft their own Roadmap for a Permanent Peace between Israel and the Palestinian Territories. This Roadmap will be presented to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and to the Palestinian and Israeli negotiation teams in the peace process.
