My three essential travel companions are a pen, a journal and a book/novel. Furthermore, I always feel attached to every library I visit and the Peace Palace library has left a great impression on me.

For more than 14 years, Hans has catalogued thousands of books, journals, articles and documents. His keen eye for detail and love for books made him extraordinarily well suited for this work. Hans has been a warm and sympathetic colleague, whose output is legendary and he will be sorely missed. We wish him many happy years to come, devoting his time to gardening and singing in his beloved choirs.
