    In een uniek concert bundelen het Montiverdi Kamerkoor Utrecht en de Konrad Koselleck Big Band hun krachten om het einde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog te herdenken. Indringende koormuziek uit die tijd van componisten als Elgar en Ravel ontmoet de vroegere Jazzbandmuziek, nieuwe composities wisselen af met oorlogsklassiekers.

  • Mr. Andrew Carnegie’s ♫ Peace March ♫

    A long-lost march by the Dutch composer J.J.H. van Rosmalen has been rediscovered here at the Library, a century after its creation in 1914. The two-page score is a short festive march in honour of Andrew Carnegie, steel magnate and philantropist. The Peace Palace, officially opened on 28 August 1913, was built with his extraordinary gift of 1,500,00 million dollars.

    World War One Poetry and Music, Tuesday 25 November, Peace Palace

    On Tuesday 25 November 2014, 19:45 hrs, a special ‘war poetry’ evening will take place in the Peace Palace to commemorate the First World War, based on a selection by Onno Kosters. Poems of well-known poets from Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy, such as Siegfried Sassoon and John McCrae, Georg Trakl, Guillaume Apollinaire will be recited. The reading of the poems will be interlarded with music compositions and performances by Rénan Zelada closely linked to the First World War. A guided tour of the exhibition ‘Peace Illusion Disturbed’ is included.
